- Companie News. Stay Fit Gym, with the largest coverage in cities across Romania – according to company representatives, announces the full acquisition of a fitness center in Florești, Cluj county.
Stay Fit Gym announced in a press release that it has reached a network of 40 centers open nationwide. The company is in an accelerated development process following the entry of Morphosis Capital into the shareholding in December 2021, when the fitness chain had seven centers open.
“The acquisition of the new center marks the achievement of 40 fitness centers in Romania, highlighting the accelerated expansion rate of Stay Fit Gym.”
Expansion based on group training
At the Floreşti center, “we will provide subscribers, in addition to the fitness area, functional training and group classes, just like in all our centers. The demand for group classes is on a constant upward trend, thus managing to build strong communities around them,” say the sports hall representatives.
These are workouts supported by coaches that multiple participants attend to train under the supervision of a trainer.
“We will continue our growth strategy in all regions of the country, by opening centers in cities with a population of over 50,000 inhabitants, both organically and through acquisitions, when the targeted centers meet our criteria regarding facilities and location. This plan reflects our commitment to make fitness in Romania accessible to as many people as possible and promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Alexandru Lascăr, CEO of Stay Fit Gym.
The new Stay Fit Gym center in Floreşti has an area of approximately 1,400 sqm and is located in the Nova Center office building.
Second center opened in Cluj in 2024
Investments will be made to arrange it, by integrating the company’s brand, as well as replacing equipment that no longer meets Stay Fit Gym’s quality standards. This is the second center of the network in Cluj county, after Stay Fit Central Cluj, opened in March this year. In this locality, the company plans to open a new center by the end of 2024.
This year, Stay Fit Gym has opened 12 fitness centers in Moşniţa, Baloteşti, Brăila, Galaţi, Şelimbăr, Cluj-Napoca, Piteşti, Vaslui, Miroslava, Giroc, Arad and Floreşti, which required a total investment of approximately 32 million lei. Currently, Stay Fit Gym is the fitness network with the largest coverage in cities in Romania, with fitness centers open in Alba-Iulia, Arad, Baloteşti, Bucharest, Brăila, Buzău, Craiova, Galaţi, Floreşti, Giroc, Iaşi, Miroslava, Moşniţa, Piatra-Neamţ, Piteşti, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Sibiu, Şelimbăr, Vaslui and Voluntari.
The target is 50 functional halls by the end of 2024
The company’s management plans to open another 10 centers this year, so that it will end 2024 with 50 fitness centers in Romania. Regarding the number of subscribers, Stay Fit Gym aims to reach 50,000 subscribers by the end of the year.
“At the time of the initial investment in the company, our plan was to grow the network from 7 fitness centers to 35 centers in five years. After actively participating in this industry, we realized the much greater development potential, so we achieved this goal in just two and a half years. This accelerated growth rate is a success even at the regional level, with Stay Fit Gym being the fitness company with the most aggressive development in Central and Eastern Europe at this time,” said Adrian Netea, Investment Director, Morphosis Capital.
Health
“Also, an additional motivation for the partnership with Stay Fit is represented by the sustainability component, with 3 million workouts being carried out annually in the fitness centers of the network, which has a significant impact on society and people’s health,” Adrian Netea added.
In 2023, Stay Fit Gym recorded revenues of 41 million lei, double compared to 2022. For this year, the company targets revenues of approximately 76 million lei based on the expansion strategy and organic growth.
